Nate's Drapion (Japanese: キョウヘイのドラピオンKyōhei's Dorapion) was the first Pokémon caught by Nate in Sinnoh, and his fifth overall.

History[]

Skorupi first appeared in Gateway to Friendship!, where it watched the group as they passed through Oreburgh Gate and took an interest in Nate.

Skorupi later attacked the group using Pin Missile, causing Nate to become separated from the others. Once he had Nate on his own, Skorupi challenged him to a battle, facing off against Nate's Archen. Skorupi gained an early advantage by using Acupressure to boost its Speed and Defence, allowing it to evade and endure most of Archen's attacks. However, during the battle, Archen managed to fly briefly in order to avoid a powerful Poison Fang and then learnt Rock Slide, which he used to defeat Skorupi.

Frustrated with its loss, Skorupi proceeded to leave. However, Nate called him back and offered Skorupi a place on his team as a training partner for Archen. Skorupi happily accepted and was caught. After being let out from his Poké Ball, Skorupi helped Nate return to his friends and led the group to the exit of the cave.

While training with Lewis in Aggressive Evolution!, Skorupi began to exhibit more aggression in battle, culminating in it learning Dark Pulse. Shortly after, Skorupi evolved into Drapion and easily defeated Lewis' Magby. Drapion found itself unable to handle all of its new power and became angry with itself and go on a rampage. It was eventually able to be calmed by Nate.

Personality and characteristics[]

Skorupi is a rather aggressive Pokémon, often attempting to use brute force to get what he wants. He went as far as to attack the group for no reason other than to get Nate on his own. Skorupi loves battling and his proud of his skills, often using Acupressure to assist him in battle. Despite his aggressive streaks, Skorupi is shown to be very loyal to his new Trainer, immediately showing Nate and his friends the way out of Oreburgh Gate.

In Aggressive Evolution!, Skorupi's aggressive tendencies began to increase dramatically, culminating in it learning Dark Pulse and evolving into Drapion. As a Drapion, it is known to let its anger get the better of it, but is able to be calmed by Nate.
